2010 MTV Video Music Award Gallery: All the glitz, glamour & Gaga

While the fashion elite were being served up next season's treats at NY Fashion Week, Lady Gaga was putting on her own fashion show at the MTV Video Music Awards. Of course her presence alone was bound to cause high anticipation over what she would wear, and she didn't let us down. Moving like a piece of art across the red carpet, Gaga bowled us over in a giant painted regal ballgown by Alexander McQueen. Looks familiar? That's because she also wore it for Vanity Fair. There was also a pair of McQueen snakeskin armadillo platforms and Philip Treacy hat thrown into the mix to make her ensemble just that little bit easier to carry off *wink*. Other starlets to contribute to the star-gawking included Katy Perry in a stunning black and white Marchesa frock, and Florence Welch looking sparkly in a floor-length gold lace Givenchy couture gown.
